Presented to Philips Medial Systems

This quilt was made for the Philips Medical Systems North America Company.  One of its employees had recently suffered a stroke. He had become a member of The Stroke Network and wanted to do something to help raise stroke awareness.  He told Philips about our project and they decided they would like to help raise stroke awareness, too!  Philips wanted a quilt to display in the lobby of their corporate headquarters located in Connecticut. 

The 24 stroke survivors on this quilt are noted on the following grid, according to their positions on the quilt.  Those who made a quilt  square and provided a story are shown in bold.  Click the link below to read their stories.

Stroke Warning Signs

bullet Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body   
bullet Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding   
bullet Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes   
bullet Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination   
bullet Sudden, severe headache with no known cause
